What do Armory Agent and VMware Tanzu have in common? They enable dynamic consumption of Kubernetes in a Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)!
Armory Agent is a newly announced feature of Spinnaker by Armory. It provides easier on-boarding and extends scalability for Kubernetes endpoints within Spinnaker. With the Armory Agent, on-boarding becomes as simple as deploying a pod in your Kubernetes cluster! For the Spinnaker users reading this, it means better performance and no more halyard commands or muddling with yaml files to add Kubernetes targets to Spinnaker!
VMware Tanzu is a suite of solutions geared towards modern applications. Kubernetes is at the forefront of these efforts. In fact, with vSphere 7.0, Kubernetes is part of the core of the vSphere product. Better yet, “vSphere with Tanzu” enables easier consumption of Kubernetes for VMware customers. Did you ever think you’d be able to create a Kubernetes cluster in your VMware environment with Kubernetes commands? Now you can, and it enables greater automation of your SDLC.
Kubernetes objects are first-class citizens in Spinnaker. vSphere with Tanzu enables interaction with vSphere via Kubernetes commands. Does this mean Spinnaker can now use supported objects in vSphere? Absolutely!! Add the Armory Agent and it enables dynamic consumption of Kubernetes on vSphere!
